Audio streaming: Part, Kancheli and Bach

A rare chance to hear music by Georgian composer Giya Kancheli, as well as music by Arvo Pärt and Bach, in a live concert being streamed over on WQXR.

Kancheli’s music is not so well-known as that of Pärt (or indeed, that of Bach), and this concert features some vibraphonous meditations in five pieces from ‘Songbook.’ 

Other music in the concert includes Pärt’s Für Alina and Passacaglia, and Bach’s Partita no.6 and two of the Two-Part Inventions, arranged for vibraphone and piano.
